The skin is an extremely elastic organ that can spring back after stretching. However, following significant weight loss and combined with weak connective tissue, this ability decreases. As we age, the skin loses firmness and starts to sag, even if weight remains constant. A commonly occurring phenomenon is the so-called "bingo wings". This term comes from the way the tissue on the upper arm moves along with certain movements, such as waving, which many people find unattractive and therefore try to avoid wherever possible. Many also feel uncomfortable in a sleeveless T-shirt, as they are unhappy with the shape and proportions of their upper arms. If you decide to have your upper arms lifted, unwanted fatty tissue and excess skin are removed, giving you the arms you have long wished for.

Frequently Asked Questions About Upper Arm Lifts

Most patients can resume their daily routine after about a week. However, complete healing of the scars and tissue takes several months. During this time, it is important to follow the aftercare recommendations closely, in order to reduce scarring and maintain the firm upper arms you wished for.

After your upper arm lift, you should avoid sport for the first six weeks, particularly activities that strain the arms. Light movement such as walking is often possible again after just a few days and promotes circulation. Your treating doctor will advise you individually on when you can fully resume your training.

Since excess skin is surgically removed during an upper arm lift, scars do occur, though thanks to careful planning and the finest instruments, these are kept to a minimum. The incision technique is chosen so that the scars remain largely inconspicuous, often on the inside of the upper arm. With the right care and aftercare, these can fade significantly over time and become less visible. The Aesthetify team supports you comprehensively so that healing progresses well.

The final result after an upper arm lift usually becomes apparent after around three to six months. A clear improvement can already be seen directly after the operation, although the arms are initially swollen. Once the swelling has subsided and healing is complete, you can enjoy the final, firmer result.

In general, the procedure to lift the upper arms is possible for anyone unhappy with their arms. However, as with all treatments, good general health is a prerequisite. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not undergo such a procedure. In addition, you should have a stable weight, and any recent significant weight loss or planned weight reduction must be taken into account. We also check the elasticity of the skin to ensure it settles well after the procedure.
