Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the body and occurs in various tissues such as the skin, connective tissue and joints. It is a type of sugar that binds water and therefore plays an important role in maintaining the moisture content and elasticity of the skin. With increasing age, the body's own production of hyaluronic acid decreases – which in turn can lead to dry, sagging skin and the formation of wrinkles. With a hyaluronic acid injection you can counteract this problem.
In general, the hyaluronic acid we use for injections is a popular means in beauty treatments, which can help to improve the appearance of the skin and boost one's self-confidence again.
Before a hyaluronic acid injection, we conduct a detailed consultation in which we ask about your expectations and wishes and inform you about the treatment procedure. On the day of the treatment, the affected area of skin is cleaned and disinfected to prevent infections.
Before the injection with hyaluronic acid, we can apply a numbing gel – but many patients also describe the treatment as low in pain even without an anaesthetic. The duration of the hyaluronic acid injection varies depending on the size of the area and the skin condition. Experience shows that the first positive effects appear immediately – and you will see the full effect after a few days.
When hyaluronic acid is injected into the skin as a filler, it fills wrinkles and lines by lifting the tissue – thus the injection gives the skin new volume. At the same time, it helps to tighten the skin and thus reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Thanks to its moisturising effect, hyaluronic acid also helps to give the skin a more youthful appearance after the injection.
The results of a hyaluronic acid injection are usually visible immediately. The advantage of the body's own acid as a filler is that it is a natural substance that leads to natural-looking results. However, the body breaks it down over time, so that the effect of a hyaluronic acid injection is not permanent. Regular top-ups, however, help to promote the effect in the long term and to achieve an improvement in skin quality and a tightening of the skin.
There are various types of fillers for hyaluronic acid injections, which can achieve different results depending on their density. As experienced doctors, DR. RICK & DR. NICK use a high-quality filler with excellent lifting power and longevity, which is why the result can last up to 1.5 years or longer.
Depending on the goals of the treatment and the areas in which treatment is desired, this can be carried out either with hyaluronic acid or with Botox®. The two substances differ significantly in their effect. In contrast to hyaluronic acid, Botox® is primarily used against muscular wrinkles. Botox® relaxes the muscles so that they are immobilised and prevent troublesome movements that promote the formation of wrinkles. Muscles that are not moved also become slimmer over time, which is why this can also bring about a slimming of the face.
A hyaluronic acid injection is mostly used when static wrinkles in the face are to be treated that arise, for example, from the natural ageing process of the skin – so they are also present when the muscles are relaxed. Botox® would therefore not help here. Hyaluronic acid, on the other hand, plumps the wrinkles from within.
