Nasolabial folds are the wrinkles that extend from the sides of the nostrils to the corner of the mouth. From the age of 25, the skin begins to age, cell regeneration, resilience and elasticity decrease and the nasolabial fold becomes more pronounced. The development of these wrinkles can be promoted by the following factors:
Intense facial expressions, especially frequent laughter, are often blamed for the development of nasolabial folds. However, the body’s natural ageing process, which everyone goes through, is and remains the main cause of wrinkles. From around the age of 50 and with the onset of the menopause and hormonal changes, the skin tends to become increasingly dry and loses volume, which can cause wrinkles to deepen. Do you no longer feel comfortable in your skin with deeper wrinkles? Then injecting the nasolabial folds at DR. RICK & DR. NICK may be an option for you.
The formation of nasolabial folds and other wrinkles on the face can hardly be avoided, especially with increasing age and the associated loss of volume and elasticity of the skin. There are, of course, skin care products and sun protection that can delay the formation of deep wrinkles to a certain extent. A healthy lifestyle, sufficient sleep, a balanced diet and exercise also have a positive effect on the appearance of the skin, while unhealthy food has a negative impact on the appearance of the skin. Regular facial massages, which stimulate blood circulation, can also delay the appearance of nasolabial folds.
Although products and special massage techniques can care for the skin, promote blood circulation and reduce wrinkles, they can never achieve the same results as wrinkle injections. If you want to prevent nasolabial folds, it is advisable to inject early – this prevents the skin from sagging in the first place and a clear result can be achieved with minimal injections.
Cheekbone augmentation can also have a significant effect. This can restore volume to the upper third of the face and also tightens the wrinkle. A combination treatment of cheekbone augmentation and additional injections into the nasolabial folds has the greatest effect.
What would you like to achieve with the treatment – what bothers you about the nasolabial fold and how do you envision your look in the future? The well-being and safety of patients is a top priority at DR. RICK & DR. NICK. Before every treatment, we conduct a detailed personal consultation with you about our treatment techniques and ask about your wishes and goals.
When injecting nasolabial folds, care is taken to ensure that the hyaluronic acid used, which is also produced independently by the body, is of a high quality.
Injecting nasolabial folds is a minimally invasive procedure that can be performed under local anesthesia. The treatment itself can be carried out quickly: it takes no longer than 30 minutes, sometimes just 15 minutes are enough to correct the nasolabial folds with injections. You therefore only need a short time and will be able to socialize again soon after the procedure.
At DR. RICK & DR. NICK, you can expect to pay from around €400.00 for nasolabial fold injections with hyaluronic acid. All further details will be discussed with you in detail in a personal preliminary consultation. We can give you a professional estimate of the amount of hyaluronic acid required and tell you the specific price after a thorough examination of the nasolabial fold.
Reduction of the nasolabial fold is a low-risk method of achieving long-lasting results through minimally invasive treatment. It is a particularly gentle procedure to restore volume to the affected areas and sagging areas of the face and effectively reduce the depth of the nasolabial fold.
If you decide to have your nasolabial folds injected, we can restore the aesthetic harmony of your face in this way, which contributes to a friendly and younger appearance. The treatment procedure is painless and the risk of complications is minimized thanks to DR. RICK & DR. NICK’s specially developed injection technique. The results of the treatment are also long-lasting.

The results of the treatment can be maintained over a period of up to 1.5 years: DR. RICK & DR. NICK use a highly cross-linked hyaluronic acid, which has a long durability and lifting power. However, as the nasolabial fold is a mimic wrinkle, it cannot be ruled out that the wrinkles will deepen again – in which case a new treatment is advisable.

DR. RICK & DR. NICK inject the nasolabial folds using a blunt cannula. On the contrary: the use of this type of cannula means that the treatment is generally associated with little pain and risk.

A minimally invasive procedure with hyaluronic acid is generally a low-risk treatment. The risk of injuring blood vessels when correcting the nasolabial fold is very low. However, as with any procedure, there may be reactions after the treatment. These include
Bruising is not caused by the hyaluronic acid, but can be caused by the injection. You do not have to worry about any long-term consequences with this treatment. Hyaluronic acid is an endogenous substance that the body generally absorbs well. In addition, the injected hyaluronic acid stimulates the body to produce more elastic fibers.

Only hyaluronic acid and not Botox® is suitable for injecting the nasolabial fold. The ageing process causes the face to lose volume in certain areas. Without the supporting fat pads, the skin collapses downwards, resulting in nasolabial folds. The volume of the face can be restored with hyaluronic acid support. Botox®, on the other hand, would only relax the muscles but not restore volume.
The muscles in the nose and mouth area should not be affected, as facial expressions could be impaired. For this reason, we only inject the nasolabial fold with hyaluronic acid.
1.
Yes, the development of nasolabial folds is normal and unavoidable. Everyone develops them in the course of their lives, but the extent of the wrinkles varies depending on the person and the individual condition, elasticity and volume of the skin.
A minimally invasive procedure can be useful if your self-confidence suffers from wrinkles.
2.
As the effect of treatment with hyaluronic acid does not last indefinitely and we as humans continue to age, repeat treatments with hyaluronic acid are recommended in order to maintain the desired aesthetics of the nasolabial fold. The details of repeated treatment with hyaluronic acid should be discussed in a personal consultation, as individual requirements should be taken into account for each procedure.
3.
Why can bruising occur when injecting the nasolabial fold?
You may find a slight bruise in the corresponding area after the treatment. However, this is no cause for concern and does not affect the result of the injection. However, bruising is generally very rare during our treatments, as only blunt cannulas are used for injecting nasolabial folds. This prevents risks and reduces the occurrence of bruising.
4.
Swelling only occurs in minor cases after treatment of the nasolabial fold. If there is slight swelling in the affected area of the face, it will disappear after a few days. In principle, you will be fit for social life again immediately after nasolabial fold injections.
