Removing crow's feet/injecting crow's feet with Botox®
by Aesthetify

Crow’s feet are wrinkles that can form around the outer corners of the eyes. They are mainly caused by the frequent contraction of the skin in the area next to the corners of the eyes when laughing. This is why they are also affectionately known as laugh lines. If you find these wrinkles annoying and would like to remove crow’s feet, injections with Botox® are a popular option.

Overview

Removing crow's feet - Information

Procedure

The minimally invasive removal of crow’s feet with Botox® is a quick and uncomplicated procedure to reduce light and deep wrinkles in the eye area. First, the area to be treated is disinfected. A small amount of the muscle relaxant Botox® is then injected into the skin around the eyes with a fine needle to remove the crow’s feet and specifically block the nerves. This prevents the skin around the outer corners of the eyes from contracting, which reduces the formation of wrinkles. The injection takes a few minutes. The first results of the treatment are visible just a few days after the treatment. You will see the full results after one to two weeks.

As the body breaks down Botox® over time, you can opt for a follow-up treatment after a few months if necessary to maintain the effect.

Patients often not only want to remove crow’s feet, but also forehead and frown lines at the same time. It makes sense to combine the treatments, as the mimic muscles influence each other and opposing muscles should be balanced out. This can contribute to a more harmonious overall appearance of the face, as all prominent facial wrinkles are corrected at once.

Removing crow's feet - why?

Many people want to have crow’s feet removed as they are perceived as unpleasant. The small wrinkles around the eyes develop as the skin ages and make the face look tired and aged. However, other factors such as sun exposure, smoking, dehydration of the skin and stress can also cause crow’s feet. Repeated facial expressions deepen these lines, which are often referred to as “laugh lines”. While they can appear charming when laughing, they can quickly make a relaxed face appear old. By removing crow’s feet, however, we can quickly make your face look fresher, younger and more radiant again.

Removing crow's feet - injections with Botox®

One of the most effective methods for removing crow’s feet is the minimally invasive injection of the muscle relaxant botulinum toxin, also known as Botox®. To remove crow’s feet, the muscle relaxant is injected with a very fine needle into the muscles around the eyes that are responsible for the formation of wrinkles.

Treating crow’s feet with Botox® has several benefits that make it a popular option for wrinkle reduction in the eye area.

  • Fast results: The effect is usually visible just a few hours after treatment. The full effect of Botox® occurs after approx. two weeks.
  • Minimally invasive: In contrast to surgical procedures, the Botox® treatment to remove crow’s feet is minimally invasive and therefore does not require a longer recovery time.
  • Low pain: The treatment is generally painless and there is no need for anesthesia.
  • Minor side effects: The side effects of removing crow’s feet, such as redness, swelling or minor bruising, are generally minor and temporary.
  • Natural appearance: A Botox® treatment can lead to a natural appearance, as it specifically relaxes the muscles responsible for the formation of wrinkles – without changing the face unnaturally.
  • Long-term benefits: Regular treatments can provide long-term benefits by reducing the appearance of wrinkles over time. If you regularly remove crow’s feet with Botox®, the intervals between appointments will increase over time.

Care and aftercare

After an injection with Botox® to remove crow’s feet, it is particularly important to provide adequate aftercare to ensure that the results last as long as possible.

For example, keep the head upright for about three hours after treatment to prevent the material from shifting. Also avoid direct sunlight shortly after treatment.
