Once the frown lines have been removed, the results achieved usually last for around four to eight months – the exact duration depends on the individual metabolism and the amount of botulinum toxin used. However, Botox® also has a preventative effect: it inhibits the nerve impulses and thus prevents your eyebrows from continuing to contract subconsciously. This ensures that the wrinkle cannot develop any further. This keeps the skin looking fresher for longer.

The frown lines (medically known as glabellar lines) are one of the most conspicuous expression lines. The vertical furrow between the eyebrows is caused by repeated muscle movements in the forehead area. Frequent contraction of the eyebrows, for example during concentration, stress or emotional tension, leads to the formation of these prominent wrinkles. After removing the frown lines, the first results are visible after just a few days. The full effect is seen after about two weeks. For permanent removal of frown lines, have them treated two to three times a year as required.

There is no concrete evidence that frown lines can be removed by massaging. However, active relaxation can ensure that wrinkles do not deepen as quickly. If you want to massage your frown lines, place two fingers between your eyebrows and move them in a V-shape towards your hairline.
Compared to hyaluronic acid, Botox® is the better choice for removing frown lines. Botox® inhibits the muscle movements responsible for wrinkle formation and smoothes the skin specifically at the frown line.
