As a rule, the effect of Migränebotulinum can last between 3 and 12 months. In order to maintain the effect, regular refresher appointments are required. The exact time for the booster treatment depends on the individual reaction to the botulinum toxin.

It is important that you keep to the agreed refresher appointments to ensure continuous improvement of symptoms.

Migraine botulinum - risks, side effects and long-term consequences

Overall, treatment with Migraine Botox® is generally well tolerated and safe. However, as with any medical treatment, there are also possible risks and side effects with Migraine Botulinum.

These include temporary redness, swelling or bruising at the injection sites as well as headaches, nausea and dizziness. In very rare cases, allergic reactions may also occur.

However, most side effects are mild and disappear within a few days of treatment. There are no known long-term effects. Botox ® is generally low-risk.
