Every treatment at Aesthetify begins with a personal consultation, in which we want to find out what you find disturbing, what complaints you have and how you imagine your bust size after the breast reduction. We will introduce you to various surgical methods at our clinic in Düsseldorf and make a recommendation as to which technique is best suited to your breast reduction. In addition to reducing the breast tissue, we often also recommend a breast lift to give the breast more natural support again. The incisions are made either around the nipple, in an L-shaped line or in an inverted T-shape to achieve optimal results.
There are different incision techniques for breast reduction, which are used by our surgeons depending on individual physical requirements and goals. The L incision (Lejour method) is suitable for medium-sized breasts that need to be reduced and lifted. The technique is particularly scar-saving and enables good shaping of the breast with a relatively short scar. The T-guide is also known as the Strombeck method and is used for large and very sagging breasts. It allows the removal of a large amount of tissue and a comprehensive reshaping of the breast as part of the breast reduction.
Very large breasts can not only cause back pain, but can also make it difficult to buy clothes and bras, for example, and make sporting activities such as jogging a challenge. In most cases, a breast reduction is combined with a breast lift. Tissue reduction alone is usually not enough, especially in the case of very large breasts, to achieve the beautiful, aesthetic shape that women want from such a procedure. If less tissue fills the skin, it appears saggy and shapeless – which is why we perform a breast lift after the reduction to ensure firm support and an attractive shape.
Asymmetrical breasts can also be adjusted in the course of a breast reduction. Many women suffer from unevenly sized breasts, which can also cause psychological stress. During breast reduction, we can adjust uneven breasts to achieve an aesthetic result that will delight you.

As with any operation, breast reduction surgery leaves scars. However, our experienced doctors make the incisions in such a way that the scars are inconspicuous. If the scar bothers you after the healing process, we offer various options to make it less visible.

You will need to rest for a few days after the breast reduction. Avoid strenuous activities, too much exercise, sport and going to the solarium. Light work can be resumed after a few weeks, although you should take care not to put too much strain on the breast area in particular. You should wear a special bra for support for at least six weeks.

As with other plastic and aesthetic surgeries, there are potential risks associated with breast reduction surgery, but these are very rare when performed by experienced Aesthetify surgeons. In general, this procedure is considered very safe and complications are rare. Our experienced team does everything possible to minimize risks such as wound healing disorders, post-operative bleeding and sensory disturbances. Sensitivity disorders in particular are often feared as a result of breast reduction. Should these occur, they usually disappear after some time.
