Tattoo removal in Munich at a glance
At our practice in Munich, we remove tattoos from almost all areas of the body, regardless of skin type. We use state-of-the-art laser technology for safe and effective tattoo removal. We adapt the laser power precisely to your personal situation – taking into account the skin texture, size, depth and color of the tattoo. We clarify all the details together in advance in a detailed consultation.
Laser technology - how it works
A tattoo consists of very small color pigments that have been inserted with a needle into the dermis, the layer of skin under the epidermis. Our immune system actually recognizes such particles as foreign bodies, but they are too large to be transported away and removed. For tattoo removal in Munich, we use a laser that emits short, high-energy pulses into the skin. This energy, which hits the color pigments from the light pulses, causes the tiny particles to shatter into even smaller particles. This means that the particles can finally be removed and excreted by our body’s own cells.
Since a laser can only reach part of the pigment per session, several treatments are necessary depending on the size, color and depth of the tattoo.
Picosecond laser
At Aesthetify in Munich, we use the latest generation of picosecond lasers for tattoo removal, which enable very safe and effective removal of color pigments. In contrast to older laser models, the picosecond laser works with extremely short light pulses in the trillionth of a second range. These ultra-fast pulses break down the color pigments into microscopically small particles not through heat, but through a so-called photomechanical effect. The body can then break these down much faster and more efficiently.
The procedure is particularly gentle on the skin, reduces the risk of scarring and usually requires fewer sessions. Even colorful or deep tattoos can usually be removed very well with the picosecond laser.

Treatment procedure
Personal advice
As with all treatments, tattoo removal at Aesthetify begins with a detailed consultation in our Munich practice. We check the skin condition, color intensity and depth of your tattoo to realistically assess how many sessions are necessary and answer all your questions.
Preparation of the skin
Before the treatment, the affected skin area should be protected from UV radiation for several weeks and be free of cosmetics and hair. We apply a cooling gel immediately before the session and protect your eyes with special protective goggles.
Laser treatment
During the session, the laser is guided precisely over the tattooed area. The duration of a session depends on the size, coloring and depth of the tattoo – it usually takes around 30 to 40 minutes.
After the session
The skin is then cooled and you receive detailed care instructions. On request, we can arrange a follow-up appointment directly in our Munich practice to continue your tattoo removal in the best possible way.
Aftercare
Treatment with the laser can slightly irritate the skin, which is why it should be well cared for after a session so that it can heal ideally.
- Cool the treated area immediately after the session.
- Avoid direct UV radiation from the sun and solarium.
- Cleanse the skin regularly.
- Do not scratch or rub: If the skin itches, it means it is healing.
Redness, swelling and blisters may occur after the treatment – this is a completely normal process and heals within a few weeks. Take good care of your skin so that it regenerates all the faster.
Pain
Although treatment with the picosecond laser is particularly gentle on the skin, the session can still feel uncomfortable for some patients. The feeling is similar to the sting of a tattoo. After the treatment, the skin may feel irritated and burn slightly – similar to sunburn. In addition, there is sometimes a slight feeling of tension around the treated area.
Costs
We cannot give you a fixed price here – it all depends on how complex the tattoo to be removed is. Depending on the size, depth, color and type of tattoo, the duration and number of sessions will vary and determine the cost.
During a personal consultation in Munich, we will examine your tattoo in detail and give you a clear estimate of the effort, duration and cost of your tattoo removal.
FAQ
How long does the result last?
During tattoo removal with the picosecond laser, the color pigments are broken down into tiny particles that your body permanently breaks down step by step. At the end of all sessions, there are usually no or only minimal color residues visible – and once removed, they do not return.
Can every tattoo be removed?
Most tattoos can be greatly lightened and largely removed. Thanks in particular to our picosecond laser in our Munich practice, even colors that normally cause problems during tattoo removal are easily removed. Nevertheless, it always depends on the individual tattoo, its depth, age and also your skin type as to how well a tattoo can be removed in the end. We can tell you more about your individual situation and assess it during a consultation and more detailed examination of the area to be treated.
Is it possible to remove a tattoo 100 percent?
Residue-free tattoo removal is possible in many cases here with us in Munich, but is not always guaranteed. Many factors play a role here: how deep is the tattoo, what is the condition of your skin and how well can your immune system break down the color pigments? However, our modern technology is specialized in more complex cases, so that a tattoo can usually disappear completely or at least be lightened considerably.
How many sessions are required for tattoo removal?
On average, five to ten sessions are required for complete tattoo removal, depending on factors such as size, color, depth of the tattoo and skin type. There should be an interval of at least four weeks between the individual sessions so that the skin can recover and the body can break down the shredded pigments.
Which colors are best to remove?
Black, red and brown tattoo inks are best removed. These colors absorb the laser light particularly well and can therefore be efficiently broken down and broken down by the body.
But even colored pigments such as blue, violet, green and yellow, which are normally more difficult to remove with outdated laser devices, are no obstacle for our modern picosecond laser in Munich. It covers a broad color spectrum and lightens even complex colors precisely, effectively and gently during tattoo removal.
